In Mexico, Cinco de Mayo is a holiday to commemorate the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. In the United States, the holiday has become a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage. For teachers, this special time of year means two things: warm weather has arrived and it is time for some fun, exciting activities in the classroom.
