Happy Read Across America Day!

Is the local library your favorite place to spend an afternoon?
Have you finished an entire novel in one sitting?
Does the smell of books get you super excited?

Book-lovers, rejoice! It’s National Read Across America Day!

The holiday began in 1997 when the National Education Association (NEA) pushed for a special day to celebrate reading in the United States. Book-lovers from sea to shining sea answered the call, and the first ever observance was held on March 2, 1998. It’s no coincidence that March 2nd also happens to be Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

Celebrate accordingly by making a pledge to READ MORE. Download our specially-designed bookmarks to keep your place in whatever story you decide to dive into next.

Alright, now hit the books!

Patrick Cozens

With an annoying mix of idealism tempered by a cynic's hard-won realism, Patrick serves as the Director of Marketing for Apperson. He honestly, perhaps naively, believes that education is the only true antidote to the world's ills. In some small way, he hopes his meager contributions help to increase critical-thinking, fairness and discernment so people make informed decisions for their own betterment, and the common good.
